Charities We Support
Ye Krewe of Sir Henry Morgan is a 501c3 organization dedicated to having fun while promoting philanthropy through our support of a wide variety of local charities. We do this through participation in the Gasparilla parades and related events, as well as a variety of hands-on activities throughout the year through donations, fund raisers and volunteer hours. Charities we have supported in the past include Hillsborough County Schools, The Spring of Tampa Bay, MacDonald Training Center, National Cancer Society, and Gasparilla Distance Classic Association.
Hillsborough County Schools Work
As a Krewe, we collect and donate funds to provide school supplies at the start of school. Each Spring, we decorate, assemble, and fill more than 300 Easter Baskets for three economically disadvantaged schools in Hillsborough County, benefiting hundreds of students.
National Cancer Society
Each October, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness, we collect funds and participate in community walks that benefit the National Cancer Society. In 2023, we raised more than $3000 to support breast cancer research.
Gasparilla Distance Classsic
The Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic is the premier and city-signature road running event for the City of Tampa. Each year, Krewe Sir Henry Morgan volunteers to cheer, motivate, and entertain runners along the route.
